Online applications for OSSTET phase 2 will start from Nov 12, 2021, until Nov 20, 2021.. OSSTET is the Odisha Secondary School Teachers Eligibility Test that is conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha. A state-level exam for individuals who wish to teach in any government and private schools in the state of Odisha. This exam has two papers. One paper is for those who want to teach art, science, and languages like Hindi, Urdu, Telugu, Sanskrit. The other paper is for individuals who want to be Physical education teachers. This exam is mandatory for beings teacher in the state.

OSSTET 2021 Exam Dates

The exam for teachers’ eligibility test is conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha. OSSTET 2021 Exam will be held in the third week of January 2021. There are two papers that the Board conducts. Paper 1 is for TGT that is Trained Graduate Teachers in Arts, Science, Classical/Language Teachers and Paper 2 is for PET that is Physical. This exam takes place only once a year. So a candidate who wants to start working as a teacher the following year must prepare accordingly and give the exam. This exam is conducted in a traditional or written form and in bilingual Languages.

Nationality

The following details the OSSTET 2021 eligibility criteria based on a candidate’s nationality:

  • The candidate must be a resident of Odisha.
  • The candidate can not belong to other states. If they do then they are not eligible.
  • The candidate must be fluent in writing and speaking Odia.
  • Candidate must have passed their Higher Secondary Examination from the BSE Odisha. If the candidate has studied from CBSE and ICE Board then Odia should have been one of their subjects.
  • Candidates who want to teach Hindi, Urdu, Telegu, Sanskrit teachers must have passed Odia till standard 7.

Paper-wise eligibility

The following details the paper-wise, OSSTET 2021 eligibility criteria:

PET

Candidates must have passed 12th with at least 50% or more marks. In the case of reserved categories at least 45% or more. Candidates must have also passed B.P.Ed/M.P.Ed/C.P.Ed from a recognized institution or university.

TGT

Candidates must have passed B.A or B.Com with at least 50% or more and in case of reserved categories at least 45% or more. Candidate must have also passed B.Ed.      (OR)

Candidate must have four-year integrated B.A., B.Ed

Subject-wise Eligibility

The following details the subject-wise, OSSTET 2021 eligibility criteria:

Hindi

The candidate must have a Bachelors’s degree with Hindi as either the main or elective or optional Subject or second language. Also, candidates must have a B.Ed degree in Hindi or Hindi Sikshyan Parangat from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra/ B.H.Ed course prescribed by NCTE, from a recognized University/ Institution.

Candidates must have a bachelors degree from any recognized college and must also have a Shastri (Hindi) from Orissa Rastrabhasa Parisad, Puri/ Rastrabhasa Ratna from Rastrabhasa Prachar Samiti, Wardha and B.Ed degree in Hindi/ Hindi Sikshyan Parangat from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra/ B.H.Ed course prescribed by NCTE, from a recognized University/ Institution.

Telugu

Candidates must have at least 50% marks or more in 12th class and in case of Reserved category 45% or more. Candidates must also have a B.Ed in Telugu from any university.




Urdu

Candidates must have a B.Ed in Urdu from a recognized university and 50% or more in Alim.

B.A degree in Persian with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed degree in Urdu

Sanskrit

Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with Sanskrit as their main subject, Elective subject, or Optional subject or must have passed Shiksha Shastri (Sanskrit) from a recognized university.

Candidate must have scored a minimum of 50% in Shiksha Shastri (Sanskrit) from a recognized university and 45% in case of reserved categories.

Trained Graduate Science in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM) or Chemistry, Zoology, Botany (CZB):

Candidates must have cleared B.Sc or B.tech or B.E with 50% marks or more from a recognized university and B.Ed degree from a recognized university. In the case of reserved categories 45% or more.

Trained Graduate in Arts

Candidate must have a minimum of 50% in B.A or B.Com along with a B.Ed degree from a recognized college. 45% in case of reserved categories.

OSSTET 2021 Application Form

The OSTET 2021 registration form was made available from Jul 2, 2021. The application form will be on the official website. A candidate must fill up this form carefully as making changes after submission is not possible. This filling of the OSTET 2021 Registration form is essential as only then the candidate gets the admit card to write the exam.

OSSTET 2021 Application Fees

The details of the OSSTET 2021 application fees are mentioned below:

The candidate must pay a specified amount towards filling this application form depending on the category that they belong to. It could be done through debit cards, Net banking in case of online mode. In the case of Offline Mode, it could be through SBI E-challan, which must be downloaded from the official website and deposit to any SBI branch. After the OSTET 2021 application fee is paid candidates will receive a DU reference number.




OSSTET 2021 Admit Card

The admit card will be available on the official website only if the candidate has filled in all the required details. The admit card will be issued prior to the date of the exam being conducted. Such a admit card is essential if the candidate wants to appear for the exam. The candidate must also carry any government id proof for safety reasons. Such government id proof could be Aadhaar card, Voters Is, Passport. The OSSTET 2021 Admit Card will be issued tentatively in the third week of January 2021.

OSSTET 2021 Exam Pattern

OSSTET 2021 is divided into two papers. A candidate who wants to teach Arts, Language, Science must appear for Paper 1 whereas a candidate wants to teach physical education must appear for Paper 2. The paper has 150 questions, that are multiple-choice questions. Each question will have four options our of which one is the right answer. The paper will be for 2 hours 30 mins with 4 sections in each paper.

OSSTET 2021 Cut Off

The OSSTET exam cut off marks is set by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha. A candidate is set to clear the exam only if their result shows them above the cut off mark. Candidates scoring these minimum qualifying marks will be rewarded as OSSTET Certificate and will be termed as Qualified Candidate. A candidate can teach if she/he has scored above such marks.

The cut off marks depend on various factors like the difficulty level of the examination, the number of candidates appearing for the exam, and the total number of vacancies. The minimum percentage of the score required for various categories is as follows.
