Thanks to the generosity of the Government of Karnataka and the Bangalore University, the Law School has a campus of its own, located in Nagarbhavi, about 10 kms from the City railway station and standing over twenty-three acres beside the Institute of Social and Economic Change. Since 1991, it is a fully residential university on one campus with three Halls of Residence for men, three Halls of Residence for women, two Hostels for post-graduate women students, three blocks for Faculty Quarters and two blocks for non-teaching staff Quarters besides the Academic Block.

The NATIONAL LAW SCHOOL OF INDIA UNIVERSITY came into existence through a Notification under the NATIONAL LAW SCHOOL OF INDIA UNIVERSITY Act (Karnataka Act 22 of 1986). It signified the culmination of efforts by the Judiciary, the Bar Council of India, the Karnataka Bar Council, the Bangalore University and the Government of Karnataka.

The first batch of students was selected through a National Entrance Test, and regular academic activities began on 1st July, 1988. Many have joined corporate law firms both in India and abroad; some have joined work with national and international NGOs; some with UN organizations, the World Bank and the IMF; some have joined the academic profession, teaching in this University, the NALSAR, Hyderabad, the NUJS, Kolkata, Cambridge, the LSE, East Anglia, the National University of Singapore, etc.; some have joined the Judiciary, and a few have joined the Civil Services.

The Law School has undertaken many research projects funded by the UGC, the Government of India, the Government of Karnataka, the Department of Women and Child Development, the UN agencies, the World Bank, HIVOS etc. These have served to strengthen research and teaching at the Law School.

NLU is 2nd top law college in India .it is situated in Sector 14 Dwarka , New Delhi. National Law University, Delhi was established in 2008 by Act No. 1 of 2008 of NCT Delhi in the National Capital Territory of Delhi with the initiative of the High Court of Delhi under the leadership of Ranbir Singh, the founder-director and vice-chancellor of the Nalsar University of Law, Hyderabad), who became the university’s vice-chancellor. It was inaugurated by then President of India, Pratibha Patil. The college started functioning in 2008 from temporary buildings. By 2010, the college had completed its construction and was fully functional. 

The Chief Justice of the High Court of Delhi to function as the university’s chancellor. whereas its vice-chancellor functions as the chief administrator. NLUD offers a five-year undergraduate, B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) program. Seventy seats are offered and ten additional seats are allocated to foreign nationals. NLUD also offers a one-year LL.M. program. The admission is through a written test which is conducted by the University followed by an interview. It additionally offers Postgraduate Diploma program in Urban Environmental Management, Judging and Court Management, and IPR and Patent Law along with  Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D).

The National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), is a National Law University located in Shamirpet, Secunderabad, Hyderabad North, India. NALSAR is was established in 1998 by an Act of the State Legislative Assembly (Act 34 of 1998) by the state of Andhra Pradesh. The Chief Justice of the High Court of Hyderabad to function as the university’s chancellor. whereas its vice-chancellor functions as the chief administrator. NALSAR offers a five-year integrated B.A LL.B.(Hons.) program. Admission to the undergraduate program is on the basis of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) which is taken by upwards of 80,000 students every year. With only 120 seats offered at NALSAR, the program is considered highly selective.

NALSAR offers a one-year postgraduate LL.M. program. 50 students are admitted through CLAT. It also offered M.phil, P.hd, Master’s Degree in Aviation Law and Air Transport Management (MALATM) and a master’s degree in Space and Telecommunication Laws (MSTL),  PG Diploma courses in Patents Law, Cyber Laws, Media Laws and International Humanitarian Laws using web technology and direct contact programs at various centers in India. CASL offers PG Diploma in Aviation Law and Air Transport Management (PGDALATM); PG Diploma in GIS & Remote Sensing Laws (PGDGRL).

Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law, IIT Kharagpur

The school started functioning from Vinod Gupta School of Management at IIT Kharagpur in 2006. However, since 2008 the school has been functioning from its state-of-the-art modern building. The structural framework of the Law School, designed by the Department of Architecture, IIT Kharagpur replicates the Grecian style to reflect the impression of the Supreme Court of India. The building covers 38,000 square feet (3,500 m2) area on a plot of land inside campus sprawling over 5 acres (20,000 m2) (the IIT Kgp campus itself spread over an area more than 2100 acres, largest among all IITs).

Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law (RGSOIPL) is the first of its kind law school to impart legal education with IP specialization within the IIT System bringing synergy among science, technology, management and law. It was set up in collaboration with the George Washington University Law School, Washington DC . The School offers a Six-Semester, Three-Year Full-Time residential program  leading to the Degree of Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in Intellectual Property Law approved by the Bar Council of India.

Curriculum of the Programme has been prepared based on the requirements of the Bar Council of India. In addition, several specialised courses in law and Intellectual Property Rights are offered.

RGSOIPL is logistically situated contiguous to the technology and invention laboratories of IIT Kharagpur and is in close proximity with the Headquarters of the Indian Patent Office at Kolkata.

National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ) is a public law school and a National Law University established under the National Law University, Jodhpur, Act, 1999 enacted by the Rajasthan State Legislature. The University is established for the advancement of learning, teaching, research and diffusion of knowledge in the field of law. It is one of the autonomous law schools in India.

It is one of the first institutions in India to offer degrees  five year integrated undergraduate programme in three streams viz. B.B.A., LL.B. (Hons.); B.A., LL.B. (Hons.); and B.Sc., LL.B. (Hons.) at the undergraduate level. The compulsory subjects prescribed by the Bar Council of India are taught from a comparative perspective with emphasis on the interface between law and management / finance / science / economics. The courses are structured in an ingenious manner which helps the students to undertake Honors courses like Business Laws, Intellectual Property Rights, International Investment and Trade Law, Criminal Law, Constitutional Laws, and Human Rights Studies.

The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS or NUJS) is a public law school and National Law University established in 1999, offering courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It is in Salt Lake City of Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It is one of the autonomous law schools in India.

The university offers a five-year integrated B.A. LLB (Hons.) degree program at the undergraduate level and a Master of Laws (LLM) program at the postgraduate level. Admission to the former program is through the Common Law Admission Test, a highly competitive, nationwide common entrance examination, held jointly by fourteen of the nineteen national law schools. NUJS also offers MPhil, PhD and diploma in business laws and other programs. It also offers a number of online courses that attract students from 17 countries across the world so far.

The Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) is a  public  law school and a National Law University established under the Gujarat National Law University Act, 2003 in the state of Gujarat. The university is located at Capital of Gujrata Gandhinagar, is located 23 kilometers north of the city of Ahmedabad. The statute provides for the Chief Justice of India or a Senior Supreme Court Judge to serve as the Visitor of the university.

GNLU was formed in the year 2003 by the efforts of the then Solicitor General of India, Kirit Raval, the then Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi and the Bar Council of India. The University is based on the structure of the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore. GNLU was the seventh National Law University (NLU) to be set up in the country.

Jamia Millia Islamia is a Central University located in Jamia Nagar, New Delhi, India. Originally established at Aligarh, United Provinces (present day Uttar Pradesh, India) during the  British Raj  in 1920, it moved to its current location in Okhla in 1935. It was given the deemed status by University Grants Commission in 1962. On 26 December 1988, it became a central university.

Established in 1989, the Faculty of Law offered only the three-year LL.B. course until the early 2000s, but started additionally offering the integrated 5 Years B.A., L/L.B (Hons.) course for UG students from the academic year 2002-2003. It also offers specialized courses for postgraduate students and PhD programs. It has been consistently ranked as one of the best institutes for law in India.

Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), is a public law school and a National Law University located in scenic Sidhuwal, 12 km (7.5 mi) from  Patiala, Punjab , India. It was established in 2006 by the  Punjab Government  (Punjab Act No. 12 of 2006) as a university dedicated to the field of Legal Education. The first vice-chancellor of the University was Gurjit Singh. RGNUL is affiliated to UGC and approved by the Bar Council of India. It is one of the autonomous law schools in India.RGNUL offers a 5-year B.A. LL.B (Honors) program and a 1-year LL.M. with an intake of 196 seats per annum and 40 seats per annum, respectively. Admission to these programs is through Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). Ph.D program are also offered.
